GreatSchools.com ranks the nation’s best education towns for 2010 and Honolulu, HI was named among the top 10 in the large cities category. Ranking was determined using the most recent K-12 public school student enrollment and test score data, along with 2009 median home price and population data. Test score data included the most recent data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress, the only test given to a randomly selected group of students in every state.
Of those in the large cities top 10, Honolulu ranked 4th with an education quality score of 62.39. First through third place cities included 3rd place Mesa Arizon (63.92) , 2nd place Colorado Spring, CO (63.94) and 1st place Raliegh, NC (65.88).
